I Don't Understand Wendys

First off, ever Wendys is disgusting looking. I have never been in a new Wendys or a remodeled Wendys. It’s like they were all built in the 70s and never updated. I recommend looking over the counter next time you order. But that’s beside the point. I don’t get their beverage policy.

First, they don’t have a self serve soda fountain like EVERY OTHER FAST FOOD ESTABLISHMENT. I remember when places didn’t offer free refills and your drink was your drink so you better make it last. But then everyone realised that soda was cheap and the mark-up was huge since the cup cost more than the soda itself, so let everyone have their fill. And it isn’t that Wendys doesn’t offer refills, they do, but thats my second point.

They will not refill your cup. They just fill up a brand new cup. I don’t get this. Do you not want to take my cup because of germs? Because I am sure behind your counter is worse off than my cup. I can’t see a cup contaminating an entire soda system especially since no one else make a big deal about germs at any self serve place. So if it’s germs, you think that justifies giving me a brand new cup? What a waste! So for every soda you sell, you could potentially be giving out double the amount of cups! Isn’t soda supposed to be an easy cash grab with such a high mark up? Why waste your inventory and create more garbage for the world?

Sure there are all the people in drive thru who don’t get refills, and probably a lot of people who dine in don’t top off before they go, but you’re still giving out more cups than needed. Do they have a cut off policy? If I dine in, can I just keep getting cup after cup after cup? And what’s stopping me from passing a cup to someone else and letting them get refills off one of my refills?

I don’t get it and maybe someone on here works there and can shed some light on their policy.

I say Wendys needs to get with the times, give us a self serve station (remodel while you’re at it, Burger King has been giving their stores an overhaul and they look amazing) and stop over contributing to the unnecessary excess trash!
